Sunsets

The sun retreats majestically
         Through a sky littered with haze,
As it meets the distant horizon
         It sets the world ablaze.

Blue transforms to purple
         As darkness conquers light;
With a final blast of crimson
         Day gives in to night.

The only thing more beautiful
         Than these fiery evening skies,
Would to be right there beside you
         And watch them in your eyes.
