Poem about why the weeping willow is called the weeping willow |
| The Weeping Willow The Weeping Willow gently weeps Into the earth her tears softly seep The lumberjack comes In the 'morrow That's what causes such unhappiness and sorrow The Weeping Willow kept crying and crying And soon enough she cryed herself to sleep. In the 'morn The lumberjack bounded up the hill And the Weeping Willow began to mourn. He got to the great old willow And said, "Great Mercy Me; What a nice, thick tree!" He gave good hack Defense is what the willow lacks. What's done is done And it is what it is And he left a stump forever more. |
