Daily Flash Fiction Challenge. Trespassing to visit a mysterious place.
We traipsed along the muddy, slippery bank clutching our bottles of almost neon alcopops, filled with excitement.
"Here it is!" cried Nik as he pulled back some thorny branches and revealed a broken gate that lead to a vision of darkness. Only the moon lit up the large, eerie building at the bottom of the hill.

"The monastery! Come on, lets go!"

We climbed tentatively over the gate, avoiding the prickly barbed wire and red and white sign that informed us that the property was private.
Once over, still clutching our drinks, we bounded across the fields towards the building that beckoned us with its intrigue and mystery. We reached the aged entrance, with broken stones, centuries old, gathered around in aimless piles, and we stopped and stood still, feeling awkwardly out of place.
Our eyes strained to see the intricate stone carvings of the dissolved monastery, and as I tip-toed closer to investigate, I heard a faint sound of rustling leaves.

We were seemingly not alone.

A flashlight flickered in front of us, causing me to jump and grab hold of Nik's arm with knuckles turning as white as the moon above .
A dark shadow moved out from behind one of the piles of stones.
"What you are doing is illegal!" a deep, gravelly voice boomed.
"Quick run!" shouted Nik.

We dropped our unopened bottles of the luminous alcohol and fled for our lives.
