Too Much

Tall grass getting away from me --
I need to mow
But haven't, so
The grass crept up this fall.

Leaves falling on the grass --
Perhaps I should rake
Before I mow the tall grass.
The leaves piled up this week.

Sticks and branches from a wind storm --
Now I will need to pick them up
Before I rake and before I mow.
The sticks add to the work.

Rain and snow drench everything.
Now I can do nothing.
Everything is covered and frozen.
I guess I'll wait 'til spring.
