When we deliver on God's promises.... |
So many of us have heard the scripture - Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Psalms 23:4 - King James Bible "Authorized Version", Cambridge Edition But have you ever thought about how God delivers on that promise? I have - and I realized something.... Maybe God expects us to help? Maybe, just maybe, we are supposed to be there for others when they are trapped in a dark and scary place. Maybe we can go sit beside them, let them know they aren't alone until they find the strength to finish the journey. Maybe we can take a lantern down to them to chase away a bit of the darkness. Or light a fire to keep them warm. Maybe when we are climbing out ourselves we can leave markers to show those who follow us the path. Maybe we can care. We don't have to be able to fix everything or help them with all their problems. We don't have to have the answers to everything. We don't have to make them tell us all their feelings and tell them our life story. We don't even have to stay for the entire journey if we aren't able. We can just be there. Maybe, just maybe...... |
