A retelling of Adam and Eve from a feminist prospective. Warning: may offend the religious
The earth on her feet
The sun on her face
The wind in her ears
And the crisp smell of leaves everywhere

This was what Eve saw
This was all Eve knew

A voice telling her peace
A hand taking hers
A face she recognised
And a name she repeated, "Adam"

This was what Eve saw
This was all Eve knew

Dreams in the night
Dreams of beauty and wonder
Dreams of horror and fright
And dreams she shared only with Adam

This was what Eve saw
This was all Eve knew

Questions in her head
Questions of why, where and when?
Questions of escape, beyond, and knowledge?
And questions of feelings, longings and loving?

This was what Eve saw
This was all Eve knew

Once a night passed
Once a bed was shared
Once a long history of shame began
And once, she learnt what making love meant

This was what Eve did
This was what Eve knew

Voices throwing her away
Voices hurting and punishing
Voices full of hatred and loathing
And Adam's voice, joining them

This was what Eve heard
This was Eve knew

Paradise lost, because love dared to exist
Paradise lost, because someone asked to leave
Damned, because hatred swarmed
Damned, because no-one is innocent

This what Eve knew
This was what she understood

Nothing, was what Eve was
No-one, just an object for another
Nobody, only a body and nothing more

Woman, this was what Eve was
