A long, weirder than usual poem about the consumption of what drives my passion to write.

Between life
Despite hope
Somewhere centered
A mediocre middle
Just like an artificial filling
Between two delicious cookies
Eating it becomes more of a chore
Then it’s damn near worth
When that happens
It is no longer palatable
But rather a dangerous consumption
The potential is always present
Stuck in my throat
Such a mountainous object
Somehow jammed in sideways
Only meant to make me suffer
Choking upon these words
And their ideological meaning
I became and will remain
Unable to speak over the fear
Of what it will further mean
Resorting to pen and page
Again and again I slave
Masterful in many ways
Things can appear as every possible other
Meaning is never as simple as definition
Many lies all run headlong
Into one irrefutable truth
Something that I cannot escape
Reality made quite clear
Feel it swallow
Suffocating upon the meaning
Undeniable is every possible reason
Understanding and thus changing
What is right to what is wrong
For better or worse
No difference does it seem to make
Let not an edge go to waste
Take what is mine and make it yours
I would care less if it was possible
It without question is not
In my throat
Between life
Despite hope
A mountainous object
Jammed in sideways
Meant to make me suffer
As it goes down
Tearing and shredding
Someday before long
It will reach my gut
In that place it will remain
Like a festering sore
Wanting more and more
Never to have its appetite met
An empty pit never will it be filled
I will of course suffer most
More than I do now
More than ever before
Feel it swallow
I’m of course not normal
These words, a clear indication
Reality left as a cryptic message
Meant to let those interested know
What it’s like to be who I am
And what it will be like to be
At some point without me
I will be doomed by what I consume
And what I try but fail to spit out
This is my life, meant to be expressed
As if there could ever be anything less…
