"So, you're not ready to get married," she brushed her a hair away from her
face, " Your funny," as they leaned in and kissed each other." Are you ready to get
married?" It depends on you." Jesse pushed away, I need some time to get
married, to get an understanding, of what I am doing, and what I think marriage is really
about between me and God. " "Okay, we can go to a therapist if need be." I would like that
lets go," they went to therapy that week, and Jesse got all his questions answered, he felt
more at ease about marrying Britney, Jesse proposed on April 18, she said, Yes, I think we
should tell the parents, what do you think they would say?" " They would be proud, of me
for commenting to something." " They will like you and approve of you, they have to I
already asked you to marry me, hey I go a great idea, lets tell your sister." Alright" they went
to the apartment and knocked on the door, Jesses sister answered the door, "Oh, my
goodness it's great to see you bro, how have you been its been awhile." " We have
something to tell you." What is it? Your not pregnant are you." No, nothing like that were
engaged." Oh, my gosh how fantastic." When is the date?" Not sure yet, maybe in late
November." I'm very happy for your congratulations." Thank you." Jesse replied with a
smileof joy, " How did you respond to it." I was very excited when he did it." We always
talked about marriage, but I was just waiting and hoping he would someday." Did yo tell
Frank yet?" Not yet I didn't get a chance to." What about your stepmom?" No I haven't yet
either or my mom at that matter." Let me be present when you do it." " I would love to see
the look on their faces." Alright, I'll let you know." You two sit lets chat, I don't have to be at
work for at least another hour." they talked for awhile about life, and how frank was doing, in
the midst of the conversation the phone rang. " Hello, what's going on man haven't talk to
you in a long time." I have been busy, I have some news." What is it?" " I am engaged."
Wow, congrats." " Thanks man." Your very lucky, I don't know many people getting married
recently, I feel like god will bless you, you will have a blessed marriage I can feel it." What
are you doing right now? " Um, not much just hanging out, do you want to celebrate?" Yes,
we can do that, lets go to breakfast, I know a good place that serves the best breakfast.
Pick you up soon." Jesse drove over to Franks, with Britney that morning, they drove to the
restaurant that frank had recommended, Jesse looked at Frank, " How did you find out
about this place? " He saw that the staff, was mostly special needs individuals. " I work here
that's how I found this place." What about your old job that you had before?" I quit the job
to work here." Why, did you quit?" This place was more my speed and better opportunity, I
get to serve people and talk to them while they eat, I get to meet some really pretty girls
too," as Frank winked at Britney, who in return gave her, the normal burst of laughter, which
indicated that she was shy, they went inside and they saw people, talking and laughing,
the host came up to them smiling." You three having a good morning so far." Yes, they both
replied as they walked to the table, they sat down and looked at the menu, that was given to
them, they noticed how low the prices were, Jesse couldn't believe it, he was baffled how
amazing, the people who had special needs, could work in a high functioning place, they
ordered their food, when it came they sat around, just talking about the past events, that
had proceeded that following night.














Chapter 25 Frank the friend I knew




After the morning went by many changes accord, Jesse and Britney continued with the wedding plans, Arvest and Sylvia got to better friends, jesses real mom didn't come, around as much, ever since she got a settlement,she could agree to, she gave full custody to arvest, noel confessed that she needed help, by going to a clinic to get better,
jesse would come up to support her day and night making up for lost time, one would say she finally went to church, and accepted the lord once again in her heart, franks mom quiet her job as a social worker, she opened a home for special needs, jesse continued to work for sylivia watching over frank, they would go to the movies, sporting events, concerts , and
and anything else that Frank wanted to do, arvest went back to school, to get her special education degree, which took four years to complete, she now works under Sylvia , jesse and Britney got married in may, they built a house for themselves under the Habit for Humanity, they took frank and taught him, life skills until he wasn't able to learn anymore,
frank worked until he grew to be 50 years old, he then went in a group home which, Sylvia worked and owned, Jesse would remind frank , that he would collect coins that he gave to him, because his family was in need of them, and that is how they met, his father would visit, from time to time, to say how happy he was to see him, frank would smile at that,
for he knew how sincere he was, and he knew how much he cared and loved him, Britney would also visit him, she would bring flowers, cd's, dvds, of his favorite movies, one day frank looked at both Jesse and Britney and said, " Do you mind if I tell you my dream, that I had last night?" Sue," they said smiling at one another, " My dream was about you, jesse as a matter of fact." he showed he was listening, as he sat down in a near by chair. " It was in a field like, your other dream, that you had passed along to me. " I saw in the midst this guy who was wearing white, he looked like he wanted me to tell you something, he wanted to say the he saw you throughout the day, he is very proud of you, that you turned your life around,and that you obeyed him, when he told you to make amends with me, jesse sat in his chair with amazement, that there wasa God out there that loved him, they both sat there listening to the dream, they both felt assured that, there faith was in a God that loves them so much, Jesse knew that God had forgave him he had felt it in his heart, when it was time to go Jesse got Frank all ready to go to bed, while frank wrote a letter. " What are you writing?" Something I have been thinking,I have been thinking about doing for a while." Is there anything you want?" No" he kept on writing as he looked up at Jesse,"Thank you being a friend, and taking care of me all these years," he looked at Frank, "Come on man, you sound like you,are going away or something," frank looked at Jesses eyes, he knew he was sincere, he knew why he was saying those words to him. " OK, frank see you in the morning." Alright." frank smiled at Jesse." See you tomorrow." See you tomorrow,"frank took out his second jar of pennies that night, that he had collected throughout the years, he put it on the tray, that was beside him, along with the note, he turned off the light and went to sleep, the morning after Jesse and Britney came,in franks room to visit, they opened the door, " Gooooooooooooooo as they entered the room, they took one look at frank, who was not waking up, Jesse checked his pulse, " He's gone." Britney looked at Jesse, they held each other as Britney,cried in his arms, they turned around to see a jar that was on the tray, a letter was underneath it, that frank wrote just before, they left to go home for that night, they took the letter out of the envelope it read:




Dear, Jesse , Britney, and Family:

By the time you read this letter I have gone to be with the lord, I wanted to say that I have enjoyed our friendship, and the way that you turned your life to Jesus, you and Britney have been so good to me, I wanted you to have my pennies I have left for you, divide them amongst the family and friends, that I have touched, I didn't realize it, but there was much meaning to the pennies, like when your stepmom, and mom meet for the first time, and the way wemeet, even when you meant your sister for the first time, so see that all couldn't have happen, without the lord guiding me, and showing me who he wanted me to witness to, so all in all I guess I was your lucky penny!

There was a funeral for Frank that afternoon, everyone was there, Jesse said some inspiring words, " There's so much, I can say about Frank, in the beginning we didn't get along, but I won't bore you with that, whatI am going to tell you, is frank encouraged me to follow Christ, and to leave my selfishness behind me, the main personbesides Frank is Jesus, he is to me my lucky penny thank you." After the funeral the crowd went home, and Jesse wentoutside to get some air, Jesse sat down on the church steps, " So what am I suppose to do now," as he looked up at the sky, in wonder what to do now, seconds after he said those words, he looked up from self- pity, to find a penny with its faceup, he looked up in the sky, " Thank you frank, thanks for this lucky penny, it was at that moment, that he knew what heneeded to do, and that is to be someone's lucky penny like Frank was to Jesse.
