As the 17-year-old self, this natural athlete has a second chance with his first love: Returned to morning of her prom.
During the summer of 1982, he struggles with the consciousness of the older self, but with each event that changes the future, the other Micah becomes less of an intrusion.

2. Antoinette De Fiore – A 17-year-old high school student that has her life changed when she and Chance attend her prom and assisted with her stalker/harasser. She wishes that he could attend college with her, but realizes he needs to take writing courses, ones not available at her school.

3. Kiliaen Van Rossum – A member of a wealthy area family, this failed businessman followed Chance, hoping to find the location of a painting.
Back in 1982, he learns that people are investigating him. For what reasons, he’s unsure. When he learns of the reason, he sets in motion events to find the legendary painting himself.

5. Eric Judge – A hired gun

6. Thomas Middleton, Antoinette’s former boyfriend. He realizes that he can no longer be with Antoinette after seeing her with Chance. After an attempt to woo her back, he realized that she is better off without him.

7. Jonah Foss, Middleton’s friend. He, too, realizes that she is better off with Chance.

8. Clayton Osborne, Antoinette’s boss. This supermarket supervisor is much older, but still is obsessed with the younger Antoinette. He doesn’t understand how she could be with Chance. He made an attempt at kidnapping her.

9. Sean Gray, Osborne’s cousin. He assists his cousin in the kidnapping.

10. Stephanie Vaughn, Micah’s younger sister. She sees that there’s something different in her brother, but can’t put her finger on it. When he confesses that he feels there’s someone/something else in him/his mind, she sees it and helps him use it. She senses that her brother has to be with Antoinette.

11. Ewa Vaughn, Micah’s oldest sister. During a lunch the two have, Ewa tells her younger brother to do whatever it takes to be with Antoinette, since she believes they were meant to be together.

12. Stuart DeMuth, professor at Union College. After a Monday morning discussion, he has the younger man come in and talk, explains the “Rules to Time Travel,” more importantly, watch himself.

13. Emily Cleary, Micah’s journalism teacher, teaches creative writing as well. She sees a difference in her student and in his writing. She reads the short story he wrote about the dream and wants him to expand it more. She researches the names in his short story and accidently helps sets things in motion.

14. Alexander Black, Micah’s cousin. He and Chance are like brothers, played together as kids, played CYO, bowling, Little League, etc., together, until high school, when he joined the wrestling team. He senses a different Chance, but keeps it to himself until he’s asked to help.

Bonus: Antagonist Profile

Kiliaen Van Rossum
A man of privilege and money, he had always heard the stories of a map that was hidden in a painting. That painting was stolen in the 1920s before his family, the rightful owners of it according to them, could steal it themselves. He never thought of it before until:

1990: He was in his business office when a gentleman, a genealogist, came in to discuss some legends of the Van Rossums. The man let it slip that the rumor of the painting/map was true. Van Rossum thanked the gentleman and sent him on his way. Van Rossum hired people to look for the painting, to search police files, look into private detective agencies that may have been hired to look for it, and to talk with older family members and pump them for information.

Once he found the possible location, he hired two men to retrieve it. They were too late, a week late as a matter of fact. When told that Micah Vaughn had the painting, he contacted the p.i. for a meeting, where an ambush was set up.

1982: A businessman whose purpose this summer was to bring minor professional baseball back to Schenectady. He amassed a large fortune on his own, adding it to the vast holding his family already had. During a lull in negotiations with a team owner, a high school journalism and creative writing teacher, met with him, setting in motion a set of circumstances that led him to a standoff with a teenager named Micah Vaughn.
