Tough Love

They couldn’t move forward
And they wouldn’t stay back,
And every other word
Was a vicious attack. 

Try hard as I might,
I could not achieve love
But they felt, with this slight
That I might rise above! 

Tough love for kids
Is a raw, tragic mess
For it ruins our bids
For any true happiness…

But one thing’s for sure
That we kids proud and strong,
Must welcome most pure
A situation gone wrong!

So now we believe
In these happenings so clever;
That this pattern we grieve
Bestows blessings forever… 

Ironically told,
Though their loving does stall,
Tough love is the mold
The most caring of all!
