A poet's fictional dream as seen through his/her eyes.
I found my heart and laid it down to catch a dream;

a journey to the unknown, the bitter, the sweet, the sinful,

all of life.

I touched the twinkling light, the fickle heart,

the capricious soul, the broken life,

all but glorious in the shadow of infamy.

I walked the silent din alone, through the

dimness of dawn; awoke the heart in agony,

lost among the crowd, a fate distant to life.

I sought the light, crossed the lanes of timeless glow,

the walls of wrath mirrored the hazards in the night,

gasping, yearning.

I climbed the mountains of the strayed;

burdened with a host of grief, traveled through

the paths of woe, deep in shame, hollowed out.

I searched the fleeting, wandering dream

amid the echoes of a storm, doomed in the

depths of lightning dread, a fearful soul, alone.

I trod, impassioned, dusty trails of tears,

saddened where tomorrow became a wisp of memory,

because only darkness lingered within, without.

I sought the heavens, found my dream, unrealized;

where was life? where was purity, unborn within

the hunger of hope?

I yearned for tomorrow's aspirations, what blinding

sunlight dimmed my eyes? what burst of the sun's rays

crossed my path? what signs of glory beckoned me?

Alas, my heart, the dream vanished among millions

of souls, drifting, wandering, treading the erroneous

ways of the dispossessed, the dreamer.
