Shadows of the Dark

John froze in terror as he saw the severed hand floating in the sewer water.  He had seen it topple out of the tunnel moments before.

Transfixed by what he saw, john slowly crept up to the mouth of the gushing tunnel. Soon he realised the water was tinged with a burgundy shade of blood.

The outline shapes became full figures as he drew ever closer.

Out of the darkness emerged a chink of light. A pair of ghostly blue eyes met his gaze. He quickly noticed the creature’s shiny teeth. He turned to run, but it was too late!
