Dave Antonio Shackleford "Shackie"
November 12, 1977 to July 10, 2013

At first when I heard about my brother Dave
In anger I began to rant and rave.
I wondered what drove him to do such a thing
Knowing that he once walked with God and loved so much to sing.

I know that these things my hurting heart will never know
But Dave, my brother, I miss you so.
I sit and think about you each day
And I wondered why to your family nothing you thought to say.

I am troubled that maybe the chance to repent you never took
But I believe that the second chance God gave you your sins you forsook.
Though this for sure I may never know
I trust God that this you did taking heed to the Word of God
He loves you so.

My brother we all miss you, sure we do
And what you have done we can never undo.
We trust that somehow in God's arms you rest
Safe and secure from this life that's full of test.

So my beloved little brother Dave
Your time with us had been shortened that God gave
And so with each day in God I behave
And never more will I rant or rave.

Lord I thank you for the loan of Dave
And I trust that Lord, his life he asked you to save.
For my peace of mind I trust this is so
But it doesnt ease the pain, Dave, I miss you so!!!
