anecdotes from when I was little |
Last night, my aunt came to visit, and during her visit, many interesting stories about myself popped up. I thought it would be fun to share some: 1. In Hong Kong, one of the gurus who picked up me and my mom at the airport had bought me a packet of potato chips. In the car, (he was driving) my mom asked me, "did you offer him some chips?" after I had asked my mom and aunt if they had wanted any. obviously I probably didn't want to share, so my response to her, in Cantonese, was, "He's very full.", or "kuy ho bao" (phonetically). (I was probably 3 years old) 2. Still in Hong Kong, my mom and aunt were shopping at a DKNY store. I was sitting there, minding my own business, with a pack of M&Ms. a baby came crawling towards me, and in panic, I held up my M&Ms and started yelling, "no! Shoo! Mooom! E-E! shoo!" (E-E is what I call my aunt.) my mom came hurrying to see what the matter was, and so did the other baby's mother, who apologized to my mom, saying that she was sorry she had startled me. according to my mom, she was very embarrassed, and told me, "don't be so stingy! The baby can't even eat your M&Ms, it just wants to play with you!" (same age) |
