I Wrote this after my dad died.
The red flaming eye stares out of the last light,
Engulfing the dragging brain.
The opening maw of the darkness comes,
Provoking a thought insane.
As though dark blue and crimson shadows,
The clouds just melt away
As our orange and yellow native sun
Discloses existence as gray.
He slowly rose to shed his light,
Then ascended to glory, to noon's full height.
Then quietly sank, his visage pure,
Creating a way of life for more.
He deftly descended, and slipped away,
Though all may wish that he could stay.
Like so many people we used to know,
The sun helps us to live and grow.
Then slips away, when day is done,
And, though still wanted, he sets, and is gone.
