As I lie, peaceful and still
The sounds of summer gives me a thrill
Children's voices as they play their game
I lie there praying for sun and no rain
The birds singing their merry tune
I love the warmth of the middle of June
But alas I know my time is near
And the end of the tunnel I do not fear
I've had a life full of adventure and fun
I remember the time I did the Great North Run
Then next on my way to say goodbye
Was watching Concorde take to the sky
What about the time I fell
A kind man helped, he was as HOT AS HELL
Less than a year from that fateful day
Down the aisle I made my way
Then came the joy of my children dear
I loved to cuddle and hold them near
Family holidays were such good times
Sitting on the beach with our lager and limes
Years later and I've done my best
Saying farewell as they leave the nest
I have all my family here around my bed
I look at each but no words are said
We all hold hands as I close my eyes
I feel my soul take to the skies
I'm at peace with a heart of love
I'll watch over my family from way up above
