It makes no difference what I write
No matter what I might feel
It has all been said in ages past
But it does not make it less real
Like ships that pass in the night
Who knows what load they carry
Only the flag they fly shows their origin
None of the “ports” where they tarry
So it is with most of humanity
We walk by so many because there are many
And what load, what story do they carry
What tears or laughter; who cares, if any
Flotsam and jetsam; papers in the wind
Left along the “roadside” all alone
What vessels do we sail each day
How many who “sail” by can atone
For their passage; who can pay
For what they feel and think
“Sailing” content on a perfect day
Who knows that they could sink
It makes no difference what I write
No matter what I think in my mind
No matter my laughter or my tears
It only matters to those who will find
