I was walking in the woods and found an empty chair, it inspired me to write this poem. |
-Empty Chair- by Keaton Foster In the woods As it should Sits an empty chair I once placed it there Many years ago No one else knows Of the place that it resides It is beyond any road Beyond any traversed trail Just there in the dark woods Deep past everyone’s care Everyone except for me that is It has a purpose A well-defined meaning I know who is meant to sit I know who certainly won’t Like it or not One day before far too long They will be forced to come Made to fill the seat And be my captive audience I will be kind with my words I will only remind them Of what it is they have done I will not lie I will not judge I will only confess And in time So will they Once I am done Once they sing All that needs to be sung I will set them free Certainly they will bleed Definatly they will scream Emotionally they will plead Only at that darkest point To me Will they be able to relate Once they are gone Once they are buried quite deep I will remove the empty chair Placing it somewhere else In a different forest In another time For quite a while it will sit Waiting just as it always has Until a day comes When I need it again… Empty Chair Written by Keaton Foster Copyright © 2013 |
