I have few memories of my mother. This day stands out.

Sweet Memory

Rays of joy leak from my tiny frame. 
A grin swallows my face.
Sweaty palms reveal my game.
Crushed blooms earn a warm embrace.

You pluck a piece from the treasure pile.
Crisp paper tears; shiny foil falls away.
It melts in my mouth as you smile.
Love tastes forever sweet from this day.
