Ryder is the only son of King Ithcar and Queen Nuri, rulers of the Were nation of the northern territories. When he was a child his parents were killed in an uprising. He was rescued and raised by Leon and Louise, merchants from the lowlands who had been travelling the northern territories to establish trade routes. Leon and Louise had three daughters, Tara, Bree and Tia who Ryder adored. One evening, the family home was attacked and his parents murdered. Ryder tried to protect them and his sisters but was severely injured and lost consciousness. When he came round he found the bodies of his parents and two of his sisters. Tia’s body was missing and he did not know whether she was alive or not. When he recovered from his injuries he joined the army and became one of their most skilful fighters, studying all known forms of combat and some new, unknown ones that he came across. Whilst in the army he discovered that the raid on his home was not a random act of violence but a planned attack ordered by some unknown individuals. His quest for vengeance fired up, he left the army and began the search for those responsible for the deaths of his family. His goal led him from one end of the continent to the other until he arrived at Alcazar where it was just out of reach. |
