The narrator laments that only in death does he find anybody to care for him.
tell me you loved me
tell me I never was alone
tell me you were always there
now that I'm gone

hands touch my body
they are only my own
nobody else would
not in my time zone

a cherry blossom tree
stands out on the street
you see blooming boughs
I see swinging feet

they say I was lonely
they say they don't know why
they say they cared for me
they'll care more when I die

the battle is over
the bodies all taken away
the tears are all running
too late by a day

my last note was short
unlike the funeral bill
I say I don't love you
but I always will

I say I forgive you
I say you never knew
I say a lot of things
with lips that are blue
