An older poem of mine, adapted into the fictional Naikuno language....

"Seen and UnseenOpen in new Window.
The original English poem.
"Naikuno GlossaryOpen in new Window.
Naikuno language guide

For fun, I decided to adapt one of my shorter poems into a language I developed for my extraterrestrial nation of Eraknivan. I doubt if anyone would be as interested as I am, but I find there's something... hypnotic about the rhythm in the translation. It has a better flow in Naikuno than in English.

Naikuno translation:
Rio'in ai oraki
Sirha'in sinolu
Hakréaiga, zaijoiga

Rio'in kir guehi
Jiéyik ragiru
Erzinyaiga, riré viga

Rio'in ai vakari
Avara ti riu
Gineksaiga, serak'in viga

Ai firu'li oru

Original English text:
Beyond my eyes,
The people fly past
Unknowing, unwavering

Through my eyes,
The world rushes in
Fleeting, ephemeral

Behind my eyes,
There is only darkness
Silent, lonely

(I am unseen)
