What Is It About Love? Why is love such a mystery, or is it just a feeling? That erupts from within the heart, and thus deemed true, There are many different types each so appealing, Only love and nothing else for us would ever do. Various descriptions, notions and potions, To strengthen love in our search we do find, For broken hearts, sore relationships, and wild emotions, There are remedies and prescriptions of different kind. Could love be worth the pain some of us do bear? The memories of tender moments together that were shared, Was it a true feeling, or hidden lust beneath that may be considered a snare? We do hear of some who cheat, and those who never truly cared. Why then is it love, which we humans crave to find? A search that never ends, at times turning our life into a blain, Great men have earnestly tried, some have even lost their mind, The only conclusion is God’s love, and with it is no more pain. Is it our desires on which we have no control? Or is it an instinct, which in an animal we find? Is it the failing of our thoughts in pursuit of love as a goal? Love at creation; just what did “God” have in the mind? Darryl. |
