The beautiful fruit trees in my childhood home
Here it is at last
The season is overcast
by mesmerising ruby-bedecked trees
Setting my spirits free

Look! Look! What a fiery sight
All marvelled in exquisite delight
Seen from miles and miles around
Like flaming firework astound

How sweet the morsel
Wishes the moment eternal
But, whoosh, it slides
Hastily down our windpipes

A scene forever relished
Sights and sounds embellished
Snip, snip, the shears vanquished
Speedily the bounty vanished

Alas, bald are the trees again
Oh, how my heart wrenched in pain
Rustling, sighing in the wind, they howled
Wearily, hopefully awaiting the encore, they bowed.
