View from the back of a Pick-up Truck

From the back of the truck,
the farmland and forest
appear to move,
while the truck stands still.

I sit in the back
of a red beat up Ford pick-up truck,
watching the countryside whiz past.

I watch
as wheat fields and orchards
fly into the past.

I do not see
who is driving the truck
or the road ahead
because I am focused
on yesterday's crops.

All it would take
for me to change my view
and refocus my desires
is to turn around
and face froward.
