behind me the path covered in
footprints of where I've been
never wanting
to look back
upon what brings
tears of unhappiness
to my eyes
forward
trees thickening
hiding what is to come
in darkness
one foot in front of the other
stumbling over brush hidden
no going back
to what has been holding back
the cracks of my heart
growing larger until it crumbles
at the thought
of running back
to what brings me to my knees
closing in around me
suffocating
screams lost upon ears
not listening
wanting to move forward
but am stuck, stuck
in this hell
I do not know who I am
who I'm supposed to be
where I belong
where down this path
