A softball team on their first game of the season. Will they win?
Game Time
Getting ready, working out, hyping up. Its almost game time, the girls are so excited for their first softball game of the season. The coaches thought long and hard on whom was good enough to be on this team. “This is the best team in the whole state of North Carolina.” Everyone was stretching, and ready for this big moment. “You girls look beautiful, just beautiful. Go out there and make me proud” said the coach as the girls were preparing to walk out on the field. As the buzzer rang and the game began, the girls began to fight for their first win of the season. The crowd is cheering, both coaches are yelling at the girls to do this, do that, and just do your best. The heat outside on that field was breath taking. Sweat running off of the girl’s chins; they strive harder to do their best. The bat clashing against the ball as the batter hits the ball, wondering how far it would fly. Running around the bases, sliding to safety. The score is 4-6 the opponents are slowly catching up, but these girls have confidence, they know that they can win this. The game isn’t even half way over, we are worn out, but we will fight!!! The girls excite the coach by their confidence. “You’re looking good out there tonight girls, now go back out there and show them what you got before you’re out of time. I believe in you girls, go get um!!!” Running back out onto the field, excite, ready to win. Only a few more minutes left of the game, the score is tied 15-15, and it’s our turn at bat. The ball is pitched, hit, and it flies like a bird. We did it! We won!!
