State to state, even across the sea; She will always follow and find me...
Rain

All my life I have been running. Moving from state to state here in America. Always trying to move through some place where my curse would be a welcomed gift; farms in a drought or water tables that need to be elevated. I even take a yearly trip to the UK and tour around the countryside, visiting Ireland and Scotland. I can almost spend a week in the the Scottish Highlands. Almost.

See, I have a problem. Rain never leaves me. Every storm runs out of rain? Hmmm. When will my perpetual storm lose its tears and fade into the sun? So far, it hasn't and there seems to be no end in sight. It is like a crazy ex-girlfriend, constantly there, sometimes I can see her in the rear view. When I stop I am consumed by her downfall of wrath. Oh how I wish I could be over you.

I stopped running once, when I was younger. I almost gave up. I was in Michigan for four days. Rivers started rising, flooding homes, swamps became ponds hiding their miasma beneath murky waters. Oh, how the Great Lakes became greater.

Anyways, I have to cut this short. If I get lost in this moment with you I could cause great harm here in Louisiana. Seems like every time I visit this beautiful, mysterious state something bad happens.

Where to next, oh Great One? Is it time to go sit in the desert for three days? Cut a path through the Heartland? Well, wherever we go next, I hope we are needed for a few days.
