A short poem about being creative as a means of survival and life after death. |
-So Much Space- by Keaton Foster Outside the box Outside my mind No prison to confine I am completely free Bound by nothing In nothing I truly believe Such freedom screams Express everything as conceived So much space To create So much space To embrace The perilous nature Of so many ways Has brought me here To this present POV At first, I was unsure Now, I feel quite safe No one can hurt me here Now one can confine me I will never again Be put into any cage Unrestricted I live my life Unhinged, all I do is write The words are my truth I’ll be dammed if I lie Any lack of honesty Goes against the grain Shame has no place Within the folds of every line I am not concerned With what others define I know what I mean Interpretation changes much In varying ways For all involved but me What I start with Is always what I end with So much space I am completely free Outside the box Outside my mind No prison to confine If I can imagine it Then I can create Line for line Word for word I wonder will I Ever be more than A pen to the blank page The answer to such a question Concerns me least of all As long as I have the spark As long as I have a place to start Then the words will flow And I know that unlike me These words will remain Long after all that I am Is gone… So Much Space Written by Keaton Foster Copyright © 2012. |
