Afflicted

This is a compilation of my poetry that was written over the course of the last ten years. Some of it was written years ago while others may be brand new and they are not listed in any particular order. I am not going to take the time to decipher what was written when but it is obvious that it was all written during difficult periods of my life. The end of a poem with be shown by * I choose to leave my poems untitled. I don't want the name of my poem to change the way that you might feel when you read it. I don't want it to have any effect on the way that someone may or may not relate to it.

So I don’t lose my mind
These are the words
That I am too afraid to share
So I can make the pain I feel
Aware
To those around me
Everywhere

There's a lot of faces
In the sea of pain
There's a lot of deceit
In the life you waste
Oceans of hatred
Puddles of love
Mountains of sorrow
Crumbs of hope
There's not many fixes
But plenty of dope
Tons of misplaced anger
Because we can't cope
Not many known faces
But a lot of no ones
In this world
Where misery lives
Invisible and alone

Hide the flame
Ride the light
Walk alone
Into the night
Deceive your dreams
Forget the time
Stop looking back
Never ask why
Go with the grain
Lean on the stressed
Do what you must
To make you forget
