A Poem dedicated to the warriors of Redwall.
I was there at Salamandastron,
During the days of Ungatt Trunn.
More than threescore hares and a badger lord
Gave their lives during the battle,
Buying my family time to get away from the Blue Horde.
Scarcely a season later,
I was with a number of others,
All armed for war,
Following Lord Brocktree.
We engaged the wildcat’s horde,
Outnumbered, but undeterred.

No quarter given and none taken,
Friend and foe alike died on that day,
For we would not rest,
Until Mossflower was free.

Some seasons later,
I was a slave on the red Goreleech.
The captain was a cruel one,
None left the ship alive.
One day they captured a mouse named Luke,
Full of vengeance for his murdered wife.
Chained to the wheel,
He gave a loud roar,
As he sailed the ship to a watery grave,
And we charged on up to the top.

No quarter given and none taken,
Friend and foe alike died that day,
For we would not rest,
Until Mossflower was free.

I was there at Marshank,
Where a tyrant ruled.
One day a young slave,
Named Martin Son of Luke,
Lead an uprising.
Forming an alliance with some traveling players,
And a young lady named Rose,
Who was searching for her brother.
Oh how I cried,
When I saw Rose fall in battle.

No quarter given and none taken,
Friend and foe alike died that day,
For we would not rest,
Until Mossflower was free.

Some seasons later,
I ended up at a place called Redwall,
A place that once been ruled by a cruel wildcat,
Until Martin came along,
And slew her in single combat.
It was a place of peace and plenty
Until a rat named Cluny came along.
A young mouse named Matthis
Quested for Martin’s sword,
And engaged Cluny in battle.

No quarter given and none taken,
Friend and foe alike died that day,
But we would not rest,
Until Mossflower was free.

I have been around the woods,
For countless seasons.
Vermin gangs have come and gone.
Searats have tried their luck
Against the mountain and the abbey.
Hordes from the North,
Deathdealers from the South,
All have come to take Mossflower,
But none live to journey back.
For Mossflower is our home,
And none will take her,
While we live.

No quarter given and none taken,
Friend and foe alike died that day,
But we would not rest,
Until Mossflower was free.
