short story
i once had a dream. i woke up in a grassy area, with my eyes very shaky, my sight very erratic. i stood up for a while, shaking my head. what became focused, was a group of people, maybe a family, maybe just some friends enjoying a drink or two. out on the field, they seemed to not know of my presence. one of them giggled, and another held his champagne glass astute in the air, giving way to his deeply curved belly. i began to number them in my head. two, three, yes.. five in all.
at a glance, it looked more like a party. none of them were frowning, and they stood at the right distance to each other, that i knew they were just small acquantances. i looked down at my hands, they were liquid like, and the shape of them made me feel as if i was exactly in a dream, just like every night i would dream. a queer, and soft sensation folded towards me. was there more to this, than just a small area and a drinking party?
i looked all around me. it seemed like i was in a distant, and very far galaxy. indeed, this dream looked real, but some prententious part of me, thinking at will, that i was truly the grand master of lucid dreaming.
a grey sky began to overcast and bleed into the background occupying the night. where was i, that these wonders began to impart disilussionment, and stagger unto reality?
one of these partyers came up to me, and it did not shake a nerve in me.
"what are you doing?" she asked.
at this moment, i tried to speak, but it was like every sensation and reflex in my body was filled except for my mouth. i had no ability there, to give a generous reply, or to question this weird and perfect creature from my dream.
i began kicking, just the air, and anything around me. the other partyers noticed me going insane, and rushed toward me.
they all gathered, and at this moment, i thought my head exploding with undetermined passion to speak, or express something other than frustration.
an assault of lies and words came halting, ringing dead into my ears, from all sides.
i was being assaulted with words, and my eyes only sought to no longer see another champagne glass in my life.
"let's go" one of them said to another.
then suddenly the sky became green with color, and then shades of the most deepest imagination came flowering forth.
i was still struggling. my hands and feet still kicking at nothing. then i looked up and saw that the place looked entirely different, yet mockingly the same as when i entered this place.
i screamed. i actually got out a word. it was just a scream, no particular meaning, or coherent word was addressed. i just screamed, screamed, and screamed. it went on for what seemed like forever.
then i woke up, and in a daze, i went to the bathroom, looked into the into the mirror ahead of me. i didn't scream this time. i just said to myself, "who am i?".
