A poem about the affects of tornadoes. I wrote it when I was in geography. :D
Unfortunately we all get caught in its menacing fight
To everything apart, to make a dreadful sight
It spins right round and aims accurately for our homes
It always manages to get somewhere no matter where it roams
It destroys our cities and endangers our peers
It destroys our homes, our land, our careers
We cry out for help and beg for it to end
A strong tearing wind impossible to befriend
But nothing can stop this hurtling wind of wind of death
Sending ferocious winds like the hardest of breath
Flying through towns destroying all that’s left
Sucking in all objects like legal theft
This cry of nature is telling us one word
That whenever this comes it’s just trying to be heard
At first site of one we give up cause we can’t
Get clear out of view from this deadly chant
Then the storm whisks away leaving rubble behind
Who knew this disaster would leave the whole county blind
