I see the future
What a beautiful illusion
A spectacular vision of a place
Devoid of the likes of me
No one will miss me
And the darkness I scream
No one will miss
That which is misunderstood.

Just as I once arrived
I will go out without a sound
A continuous nothing am I
I have always been condemned
To a past that I cannot escape
I have always been vacant
By a future that I have no part in.

All around are incapable strangers
That I have come to call lemmings
I refuse, so by default I am immune
I cannot accept the programming
I will not believe as they do
I am interested in the cold hard truth
That I have spent my life searching for.

I will fight as I always have
Such an unwinnable dilemma
I should know better, but I don’t
I should make my break into the fold
I should give into everything
That all but me pay homage to
But as I always have and will, I refuse.

My mind and my heart are intertwined
A universal front against the obvious
I won’t accept what reality means
There has to be more, and I must find it
If not for the world, then for myself
I have to know, and I won’t stop until I do.

Silver linings wrought from darkness
Have brought me here, to this question
To this over preponderance of a place
Of vast influence and cataclysmic importance
These words are a conduit
A conductive surplus of ideas and thoughts
All expressed via randomness as I
A man turned prolific poet steps closer
To death and all that the end implies.

I will continue to write out my soul
I will spell out my bleeding heart
I will lend a voice to those who won’t
Speak from the depths of their own heart
I will find the answers that I seek
The answers that those
Who are not asking need…
