Here I am
There I went
Illogically speaking
Theoretically pandering
With a cardboard sign that reads
Please listen to me
I am sure that you must
Arrogance and then some
Absolute devotion
I have none
What about you?
I won’t survive
Without you
Then again
I won’t survive
Without myself
Always searching
Frequently blurting
A poet turned madman
A madman fighting for himself
Survival is a steep price
Pay along with me
Help save me from myself
From my darkness and doubt
I won’t survive without you
A hell of a feeling to have
Knowing that my own existence
Hinges upon the existence of others
Strangers turned bastards
Bastards turned sons and daughters
To each of my slighted words
Relating the relatable
Measuring the inequitable
I have never met a goose or a gander
I have never seen life as fair
God has a grudge and so do I
I have a chip on my shoulder
That I spend each day
Daring people to knock it off
Sooner or later
Rather than never
Someone is gonna answer the call
Someone is gonna meet the need
What will I do?
Probably something more than now
But certainly less than ever before
A thank you will be in order
A handshake and a smile
Maybe some parting words
Eloquently written in blood
Theirs or mine matters none
Without out such a chip
As the one on my shoulder
Would I still be able to be
The desperate man that I seem?
Would I continue to fool the fools
Who lend sight to my words?
Of such a thing I am not sure
But here I am picking fights
Kicking ass without taking names
I am a pacifist turned advocate
Strangers you all seem
But more important you could not be
I won’t survive without you
So if you can
If you feel as if you must
Please help me
And in turn save me
I won’t survive unless
You step in and decide…
