A Change of Mind: Character Bios

Curtis: The protagonist and point of view character. Twenty nine years old. Works as a graphics artist for an architecture firm. Perpetually single, awkward, shy, and somewhat depressed about it all. He's artistically minded, and works particularly well with pastels and charcoal.

Tina: One of Curtis's friends. Mid-twenties. Loves to go clubbing and is a total social butterfly. Occasionally drinks too much and wants Curtis to have as great a time as she does, but doesn't really know how to go about accomplishing it.

Patty: Curt's coworker. In her late thirties and a older sister/mother type. Constantly trying to help Curt in his quest to end his singleness.

Bill: A guy that Patty set Curt up with. The date was awkward and Bill lost interest afterward.

Ted: A friend of Curt. They usually go to the dog park on Saturday together. Bill was in a long-term relationship with Zach, who died in a vehicle accident (prior to this story).

Steve: A friend from Curt's church. He's trying to advocate for more LGBT inclusiveness in the church. As a part of that, he arranges for Curt to take on an art project with the church's youth.

Nate: A twenty year old college sophomore that Curt meets online and ends up dating. Nate is a political science major.

Jessica: One of the youth leaders at Curt's church. She's working with Steve to arrange to have Curtis lead the youth art project.

Becka Smith: A church youth artist. Age sixteen. She is fascinated by Curt's sketches of human models. She loves drawing with ink and also does some watercolor painting.

Andrea Smith: Becka's mother.

Mark Smith: Becka's father.

Kirk Anderson: A church youth artist. Age fourteen. Sculpts with clay.

Shellie Anderson: Kirk's mother.

Stan Anderson: Kirk's father.

Brian Carter: A church youth artist. Age seventeen. Paints. Does incredible landscape paintings.

Sandy: A church youth artist. Age twelve. Clay sculpture, plus paper mache and drawing.

Mindy: A church youth artist. Age seventeen. Painting.

Raph: Nate's ex. A college artist.
