“Humans call it PMT y’know,” the crow landed on the branch opposite and gave Sparkle a worldly nod.  “Makes them do all sorts of irrational and daft things.  Like throw old boots at innocent little birdies....”

“GO AWAY!”  Sparkle shrieked.  She slapped her hands down against the oak leaf she was sitting on and glared at the crow.  “Humans only exist in stupid children’s stories and I am NOT IRRATIONAL.”  The whole branch shook as she leapt away; tiny wings buzzing and flashing in the sun.

The crow pecked at an insect, “just tryin’ to, y’know, help.”
