Following your ghost
Where it goes, so must I
Doomed by your own hands
Something remains for you to do
And for reasons unknown I must help
Even though I know that I can’t.

I see you when others don’t
I know you when I shouldn’t
You are as dead as death implies
No life burns in your eyes
No words cross your lips
No thoughts pour through your mind.

A silent representation of the end
Is all that you are
Or could ever hope to become
Your life came to a tragic end
A bullet through your fragile heart
Eradicating your life giving spark.

They say that death was instant
And that your suffered none
But you and I know better
You went through hell
From beginning to end.

You have not transcended to heaven
You have not fallen down into hell
Somewhere in between is where you reside
A true ghost of who you once were
A vacant soul with regard to what you’ve become.

Following your ghost is all that I have left
The direction of your path is my plight
What you are waiting for so am I
What you need to move on
Is nothing that either one of us have
Or have the ability to obtain…
