I went on a date yesterday that inspired me to think about first impressions.
First impressions. Those first few moments. You glance at him. He glances back. Grinning. Both of you. Slowly moving towards one another. Amid the crowd. You single out each other. There is now just two. You. Him. Staring straight through you. Not as if you are invisible. Actually. Crystal clear. As if he can see the deepest, darkest part. Part of you, you barely let anyone see. First words. What do you say? What does he say? Do you respond? Simply smile & nod? Or laugh? First emotions. How do you feel? How does he feel? Shy. Anxious. Curious. Questioning. Optimistic. Hopeful. First thoughts. What do you think? What does he think? What do you think, he thinks? Pretty. Beautiful. Enchanting. Inspiring. What do you think, he thinks, you think? Handsome. Charming. Intelligent. Mysterious. First touch. His arm grazes yours as you walk side by side. His hand slowly reaches out. Grasping your fingers. They gently rub. Fitting perfectly between. First kiss. Eyes locked. Staring. Slowing moving closer. Soft lips. Caressing. Contact. Time stops. Freezes. A second? A minute? An hour? Forever? Who knows. It feels right. Firsts. Those first few moments. Meaningful. Memorable. Momentary.
