A woman who loves a man to her core but all he did was take until finally she was no more
She loved him in ways no one else would
Gave everything she had simply because she could
Who would have thought it would end like this
Her heartbeat, slow, echoing in the abyss
One gasp escapes her precious lips
He caresses her forehead with his bloody fingertips
He looks her in the eyes and asks “What have you done?!”
She replies in a whisper “I can’t live with what we’ve become”
A tear falls down his cheek as he lifts her off the floor
Her hands fall gracefully to her side, the pain hits his core
Her lifeless body he lays down on the bed
This could have been avoided; all that’s left is bloodshed
Cliché’s fill his mind “live each moment like it’s the last”
He lies beside her body and realizes their troubled past
He broke her, he knows this, why did he hurt her so
Now her lifeless body can react to him no more
The pain begins to burn, he longs for her embrace
He should have appreciated her; she was beauty, poise and grace
Hind sight, now clear, he takes the blade in blame
And with one slash to each wrist he basks in his shame
He feels he deserves the pain he suffers –he knows he deserves it
He knows he should have loved her
Such a tragic ending, such a sad display
Two lovers suffer greatly; it had to end this way
Out of her body, freedom is her soul
Beautiful light; no longer regretful; finally whole
Her spirit turns his way, she realizes what’s occurred
Yet she feels content, free of pain, no longer insecure
Finally she is free from the painful life she had here
She takes one look back, smiles, then disappears.
