A night time walk in the high mountain winter forest.
Mountain Night

High mountain living, white not brown.
Spring time earth’s still five feet down.
Weather’s contrasting.
Arctic’s still blasting.

Spring on the mountain only yields,
April showers of ice coated fields.
Coating both trees and homes,
Along with all the forest gnomes.

A full moon reflects the light.
Air drawn deeply, silver sight.
Diamond fields twinkle bright.
Crunching boots in the night.

Hello Mister Fox, how are you?
His reddish coat a grayish blue.
Stopping still, he holds his breath,
Watching me cross his snowy depth.

Silhouette giants swaying on gentle breezes,
Joined as lovers dancing in icy freezes.
The fox and deer bolt, a tree owl hoots.
All at the sound of my passing boots.

Absorbed into silent black and velvet light,
Amidst twinkling orbs of the star filled night.
Finding within all that’s nature’s simplicity.
Everything is joined within nature's mystery.
