A vent in the form of poetry. Its still a work in progress.
I don't fit neatly in your prefab box and won't be trapped between lines

I'm breakable, perishable and very combustible; rejecting of your confines

How are you fit to define my reality and the venues you dictate I follow

How is it, Oh strong and enlightened one, you aspire to the status of Apollo

You imagine yourself my creator? The alpha omega of my existence?

Perhaps you hope to extinguish my pride with the mere force of your persistence

I've battled my demons.  I've slept on the streets, stood humbled: choking down pride

Dismissed, defeated and deemed obsolete; Sought my absolution in the acid tide

I won't be your shadow, your puppet on strings or the scrutiny of your reprise

I refuse to acknowledge the black and white world as seen through your colorless eyes

Its mine, this life, Gods gift of time; You'll conjure Elvis before control of my fate

I'd relinquish my breath before shelving my dreams; The solace I won't desecrate

Intangible to you, I realize this now; These "fantasies" are a childhood friend.

My spirit would die and cease to exist if I let these treasures to expend

We were created by the very same God and held in the same esteem

Why would you try to own my life? You no have right to kill of my dream.
