A strange day of fishing

As some bubbles ascended to the surface 1

With torridity, I gripped the gaff

          And forgot about my companion

Yes! I caught a fish at last

Letting out a copacetic hosanna  5

I imagined the size of the catch

          Is it pint or large?

In extreme exitement I pulled the rope

          As slowly as possible

To delay my hard fought exitement  10

          My mind is already frolicking

I was dumbfounded on seeing my catch

I just fished out a bottle of beer

          Annoyed at my impecunious achievement

I spit on the  water  15

          To further my vexation

          I noticed or didn't notice

That my beer can is missing

But my catch is not a can

          The transformation is evident  20

          So are the bubbles

With a careful glance I hold it

In disbelief and fear I jerked it

          Something was in it

          A creepy litle thing  25

          I tilted the bottle

          It is struck

          It has ten legs

I spit the hook for good luck

The bait is still wriggling  30

          Its good. Will attract fishes

          Oh Kela..what is this?

          I caught a fish

          It cried "please leave me"

          I said I'm hungry  35

"Leave me and I'll return your beer can"

I was exited but I burried it

          "Ok" I said

          "Look on your left"

I noticed an unopened can  40

I wanted to thank the fish

          But it disappeared

          I am elated

          I took the can

I arrived in my dingy hut  45

Broke the bottle and found a crab.

I'll enjoy a beer with an uncooked crab

But I had laid the gaff and baited it with a dead worm

          I have been duped

The can is a cold drink gone hot  50

          But I enjoyed the crab

          I'll have my revenge someday.
