A tear-drop fell from my eye,
As I looked to the heavens high.
My heart sunk deep within my chest,
For this world is in such unrest.
I saw the news, as it frightened me,
The way in which human beings can be.
A murder here, a robbery there,
And wars almost everywhere.
From the east on to the west,
Neither one can claim the best.
What must God see when he looks down,
He must always wear a frown.
Not that humanity’s without good,
There are plenty miracles if you would.
I marvel at the accomplishments of most,
As I read the news from coast to coast.
Where are we headed, we’ll likely yet see,
As there will be no end to our humanity.
Perhaps Armageddon, in the future of time,
That’s something to keep in your mind.
