A deeply dark poem about a beast hiding in plain sight from those close to me. |
-Hides Inside This Body- by Keaton Foster A beast of unimaginable screams Hides inside this body No one knows No one has ever seen Safe from me they seem Certainly that is not the case They are in grave danger Reeling in anger Sooner, than later The beast of my being The reality of such invisibleness Will be brought into view Clarity will scream true All will be seen All will be released Those with open eyes Will attempt to flee They will not get very far All-consuming in my ways I will catch each one of them I will hunt them down Ripping them from limb to limb Long after my gut is full Long after my blood lust is met I will continue to kill them For nothing more than silence They will plead, they will beg They will ask their God of chance to save them From such a creature of certainty Long before they confess their sins Long before they say amen I will tear them to pieces The parts of one will be used To beat another to death The ground will be painted red The scenery will be transformed Into something beyond explainable horror Those outside my path will know Not to cross over, to step in between The long way around must be traveled What hides inside this body Is not of my making, only of proximity Releasing it will do nothing for me Because its freedom means That what makes me human My universal flaw will be forever gone Weakness of any kind will be replaced With the terrifying reality of a man Turned into something devoid of what it means To care for another, even strangers Turned possible victims… Hides Inside This Body Written by Keaton Foster Copyright © 2012. |
