I can't tell you what this is, but neither can anyone else.
In the beginning, there was no such thing as emotion. There was only light, darkness, and a very primeval form of interaction. But as the world commanded more, he changed this. As he discovered beauty, he found wonder, amazement, and sanity; as he discovered the ugly, he created blood-lust and the recognizable form of insanity that stems from the absolute realization that in one, there will never be such wonder or amazement. But, like so many other things he shaped, these opposite forces of emotion and feeling were entirely welded together, and only in the rarest cases could they be separated or found without the other.

As the creator of both sanity and insanity, he knew there would be no happiness for him in this world. He knew his fate was to create solely for others-never himself-and to provide others with the choice to go on. Yet he was perfectly fine with this destiny, this ironic fate forced upon him. He didn't mind spending his days playing the music, displaying the colors, developing the world father and deeper, enriching it's people as he went. But as it would go, he did mind doing this all alone.

And so by some fortunate twist of fate, by some magnificent gift from the gods, she came to him. She didn't know his place in the world or the obstacles they would be faced with after their first meeting or the shifts in his state of mind that would occur as a result of her or the unbeatable force that would make her stay in spite of all of this.

Although she would later be defined as the incarnation of light or the mother of good, she was neither of these. She was simply the exception. She was the rarity that held only beauty unmarred by hate or greed or any of the other atrocities that had begun to develop within his world.

Her hair was so black that when the light hit it, he swore there was an abstract shattering of light reflected off it. It was the type of reflection that, when looking at one fleck of light, another would appear in the corner of his eye, brighter and even more magnificent than the first. For her, he created stars.
