Softly Falling Rain

The gentle pitter-patter
against my windowpane
bringing needed moisture.

Fate smiles upon the parched earth, thirsty seed and
delivers pollen to lonely flowers,
as if a long lost love letter from a friend.

Washing the air, and
softly caressing the grasses as it
glides on to the ground.

It’s graceful decent becomes
a merry dance as it meets puddles,
sending ripples of echoing laughter throughout.
