Sonoran Desert
Plants were standing silently.
The wretched heat soared today.
Dust flew around violently,
keeping visitors away.
Food and life was synergy.
Agile gerbils would scurry.
Seeds they found give energy
to avoid foes, they hurry.
This day has no compromise.
Danger is in the desert.
Gerbils seek to colonize,
avoid risks it will exert.
This form is called Ae freslighe (ay fresh lee). It is Irish in origin. Each stanza is a quatrain/four lines. Each line has seven syllables. Lines one and three rhyme with a triple/three syllable rhyme. Lines two and four must have a double/two syllble rhyme. The form has three or more stanzas.
I found this poem style the hardest one for me to do as of this date.
