It describes how children grow up and leave behind what was once important to them.
An old ragged doll with golden hair
now dirty and dusty, but once was fair.
A little toy soldier made of wood
that once used a sword to fight for good.

A fluffy lamb that once lay on the bed
alongside a penguin with a patch on its head.
For baby dolls there were pretty clothes
Along with hair ribbons, blankets and combs.

A toy telephone and alphabet blocks
now packed away in a wooden toy box.
A beautiful dollhouse with curtains now torn,
the wallpaper cracked, faded and worn.

Teddy bears once seated all in a row
each one's neck tied with a bow.
Broken wheels from tiny cars
and a baby's mobile covered with stars.

All the toys are packed away
Hidden in the attic where for now they'll stay
