Nonsense about frogs & toads. Written to practice rhymes. |
Nonsense 36 (short) lines. *Pronounce 'frogue' like 'rogue.' If a toad is a toad because it’s dry, And a frog is a frog because it’s wet, Put a toad in a pond, Put a frog in the dirt, Now tell me what do you get? A frog is a frog, A toad is a toad, A toad is a frog, A frog is a toad. If a frogue is a frog and a frog, And a tod is a toad and a toad, Tell me what is a toad and a frogue, And now what is a frog and a tod? A toad is a frog Is a toad in a bog, But what on a sunny day? A frog is a froad Is a trog is a toad, It doesn’t matter any way! Could a frog ever love a toad? Would it be too heavy a load For amphibian society to bear, For the frog to love him there? Two frogues in a bog with a trog, Three tods on a log by a frog, And a toad and a froad make a hat: A very absurd little hat. Couldn’t the toad come into the wet, Become a frog and acceptance get? But if he was loved, Just as a toad, Could the pond, Be their abode? Would they be forced to leave the bog? Or would they simply hide under the log? For a frog is a frog is a frog. |
